In the last years, due to the current generational changes, science has been stigmatised and as a result, there has been a significant drop in interest in new generations to aim for science careers. Stem pals is a non-for-profit project that aims to incentivise and promote STEM studies in Australia.
Founded by Scientist and Activist Jennifer Payne, this is a program that pairs kids between ages 10 to 13 (aprox.) with real life working scientists in an old-fashioned Pen Pal programme, where hand-written letters are exchanged during the school year.
A suitable brand identity was required in order to appeal to both kids and scientists, and other third party adults involved (parents, school teachers, etc). Following Jen's requirements and taking advantage of previous graphic elements used in the past, we came up with a few ideas that gave birth to this playful logo and brand identity.
A very simple website was also provided in order to help establish an online presence and drive leads.
This was a pro-bono project as a donation to STEM Pals.
