The iconic shop at Berryden Shopping Centre "Street Stompers" was acquired earlier this year by the owners of Bob&Lulu, another children shoe & clothing shop that was located in Ashley Road. The challenge here was to make a corporate identity along the same vibe of fresh and vibrant design, chic, and classy, but trying to cater for a more grown audience.
We decided to keep the same colour palette from Bob&Lulu, and try to go for a more juvenile approach, while taking advantage of the current Interior Design that the new Street Stompers is getting.
We first tried simply using the same typeface with the same colours, with a very bland result. It's neat and clean, but lacks a bit of the character we're used to from the traditional "Street Stompers".
We tried the same typeface in a bold format, and adding some graphic elements to accentuate the name, but we were still off track here. We determined that using so many colours were making it look more childish and would not appeal to the more grown up demographics we were aiming for.
Taking inspiration from Vans and Skechers, we tried to go for a more "Street" Look & Feel. Finally arriving to a simple and straightforward graphic style that our client loved, and it's versatile and flexible, and works well with Bob&Lulu colour palette.
